I walked into a drug search at a persons home. I never entered the house. Police stopped me at the front walkway. The police questioned me, checked my I.D. then let me go on my way. I have been told that I was video recorded during the police questioning of me & that they want to use it in court. My question is this. Dont the police have to get my consent & or inform me that I am being video recorded?

No, they don't have to tell you you're being recorded and they don't need your consent to use the video in any way. Of course, if they put it on a police website and label you as a person who was going to buy drugs (when they have no proof of they), you may have a complaint. And yes- they are allowed to detain and identify anyone approaching the premises where they are conducting a search warrant.
