Question

I received a phone call from an individual identifying herself as an attorney who had received a request from me via electronic form subittal and whom then asked for details of my case. I gave details of my case and then the attorney said she would contact me back later. When I asked for her name - she hung up on me. When I pushec "star 69" to retrieve her caller information I found she had blocked this information and was unable to locate to whom I had given privileged information. I am now concerned that I have given privileged info to an attorney whom represents hospitals rather that individuals and that the unidentified lawyer will now notify the hospital of my legal claim. I did push "star 57" which runs a trace on the last call to my phone number but am afraid police will not follow up on this trace because it was not a harassing recurring phone call. What can I do to identify this person to whom I gave privileged information?

WOW! That's a real problem. The website where you entered your information (which I assume was for an attorney referral) should be called right away. Explain your concern. Ask who got the referral and tell them you are concerned you cannot get the person back on the phone. Call the local bar as well as the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board --- this is a relatively serious issue. You need to create a record with the PA Disciplinary Board as well as your concern that the hospital you are fighting may have privileged information. Also, call a local attorney who handles Med mal cases and have them contact the police. Good Luck
