A lawsuit is begun when the plaintiff files a "petition." When you "answer," the suit is "at issue." Nobody can tell you how to answer without knowing all the facts, and you shouldn't really share all the facts with someone other than your attorney. What I can say is that you must file some sort of answer or the other side will file for a default judgment, meaning they win because you did not take steps to defend yourself. You should speak to an attorney asap. The more time the attorney ahs to craft a defense for you, the better.

Publications on this website are for informational purposes only and neither create an attorney-client relationship nor provide a substitute for consultation with an attorney apprised of all the facts.
