I am an 18-year-old Highschool student. My friend recently got a truancy ticket and needed help paying it off. She asked me to take her to the Pawn Shop and a local Gold Buyers to sell some of her jewelry. Being that I'm 18, she needed me to sign for the sell. I didn't find out until later that she lied to me when I asked her if her mother gave her permission. When I got home my mother told me that this could put me in a position of risk. If she decides to lie to her parents about the jewelry or it turns out she may have stolen it, is there anyway to protect myself at this point?
