Question

This is a strange question because it happen 29 years ago. Everything is 100% true, and I would pay for a lie detector test out of my own money. My father and I were jumped by several teens, they were 17 years ago, I was 15. They beat us up and use pipes and bats on us, I was knock Unconscious, and my dad's head was split open. We both went to the hospital, and the following day to the police. The police refused to do anything, and my dad didn't push the issue, because the cops were going to arrests my brother that early that day had a fight, and there were 3 guys, and I guess do to fear of the cops coming after us do to their corruption. Years ago I wanted to pursue it but was also afraid of the cops. I then did my best to forget about it like a bad nightmare, like anyone else that suffers something tragic. I just recently thought about this again because I saw one of the cops that spoke to myself and dad and he was in my nephews yearbook, and I remember his face and understand how it was all connected. I know that their is a statute of limitations on assault, but my dad and I did try to press charges, but the cops would not let us. I have no medical records, or reports, but a lot if people in school all knew what happen, it was a very big topic. I have just recently joined classmates.com, and Facebook, to try and get in touch with some people, and see if they will tell what they know. If nothing else, I would like the corrupt cops proscuted. Imy question is, if all I have is peoples testimonity, besides my own, but unfortunately no medical records, do I stand a chance at a case?

The statute of limitations has run out on this assault if it in fact occurred 29 years ago. It is best to move on from this. You can try to make a complaint to the Attorney General's office, but the passage of time may just be too long for them to be interested in the situation.
